Ente Photos
A private, end-to-end encrypted photo cloud at oscloud.photos. An alternative to Google Photos where only you have access to your photos.
Photos are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded to the server, so not even we can see them. Our own Ente instance runs on our servers in Germany (Hetzner, Falkenstein).

Your password is the only key to your data. If you forget your password and lose your recovery key, your photos are gone for good. Nobody can restore them, not even us. Keep the recovery key from sign-up safe (ideally printed) and back up important photos elsewhere too, for example to your own external drive.
Pricing
Every account gets 10 GB free forever. A yearly payment saves you roughly two months.

We are not a VAT payer, all prices are final. Prices are in Czech koruna (CZK).
Sign-up
- Open oscloud.photos in your browser and click Sign up.
- Enter your e-mail and password (twice), accept the terms and create the account.
- Enter the verification code you receive by e-mail.
- Keep the recovery key that is shown.
If a “Developer settings / Server endpoint” window pops up, click Cancel and do not change anything.
Subscription
You buy it only on the website oscloud.photos, which also works from a phone browser (not in the app). Native apps take payments through Google Play and the App Store, which does not work with our instance. A message in the app saying payment is not possible and to contact the administrator is normal.
- Log in at oscloud.photos in your browser.
- Menu → Subscription, choose a plan (monthly or yearly).
- Pay by card via Stripe. Your storage increases immediately.
- In the mobile app, sign in with the same account and the subscription shows up on its own.
Apps and server setup
The web version needs no setup. In the Android, iOS and desktop apps you must first set a custom server, otherwise they would connect to the official Ente.
- Download the app: Google Play, F-Droid, the App Store, or ente.io/download for desktop.
- On the welcome screen, tap the logo 7× in quick succession. The server settings open.
- In the Endpoint field, enter exactly
https://oscloud.photosand save. - Log in or sign up, allow access to your photos and the backup starts.
If the 7 taps do not work, try again, they have to be quick. You will find details, including video guides, in the documentation.
Family plan
You can share your storage with up to 5 family members. Everyone has their own account and their own encryption, only the capacity is shared. Members cannot see each other’s photos.
You need an active paid subscription. Then: Menu → Subscription → Manage family → Add member and enter their e-mail.
FAQ
- Can you see my photos?
- No. They reach the server already encrypted. We can only see how much space you use.
- What if I forget my password?
- Use the recovery key from sign-up. Without both the password and the key, nobody can get to your data.
- Can I switch from Google Photos?
- Yes, Ente has guides for importing from Google Photos and Apple Photos.
- Where is my data?
- On Hetzner servers in Germany (Falkenstein), so in the EU.
